Christening necklace made from Sterling Silver with a plain, high polished finish supplied on a 14 inch chain.

Christening necklaces are often given as a gift to treasure. Originating across the reign of Edward VI in 1551, a silver sixpence was seen as a token of prosperity and good fortune – this has now developed into a silver token (often a cross as a symbol of faith) given on the child’s Christening to wish them well through life.

Crosses are not only a timeless symbol of faith but they are well known to be a classic fashion statement. Cross jewellery can be worn every day to complement any outfit, or styled for a more dressed up look, such as paired with an open neckline for an evening occasion.

The Christening necklace measures 16.5 mm in length, 10mm in width and 1mm stand out depth from the neck. It is hung on a sterling silver chain at a length of 14 inches.
