The White Rose which is known partly as it forms part of the Tudor Rose has a connection with Yorkshire and York yet there are many stories regarding its origin. It is thought that it was first used by the Duke of York in the early 14th Century and then later on, it was adopted by the City of York and became key in the famous ‘War of the Roses‘ between Yorkshire and Lancashire and is still renowned today.
