Signet Ring – 9ct Yellow Gold, Mens, Plain, Oval
This classic, oval shaped, pre-owned, 9ct Yellow Gold signet ring is designed to be worn every day and is a substantial ring with a good quality head and shank. Often given as a gift for a special birthday such as an 18th or 21st as they make a wonderful gift, look great on everyone and can be used as an heirloom to be passed down to each generation.
The head section of this oval signet ring is 13 mm in length and 12 mm in width and the ring is a size K. The ring weighs 8 g in total.
This ring has a plain head which may be engraved with initials and a date or message on the inside if required to make the signet ring personalised to the wearer. All engraving is hand engraved by our experts. The signet ring is a timeless classic piece of jewelry and has played an important part throughout history. Originating from Latin ‘signum’ which means ‘sign’, they were often engraved deeply (seal engraved) with a personal family crest and used by many as a seal. The ring was pressed into hot wax which was known to be the most authentic way of signing a document, (even more so than a fingerprint!) with the rings being disposed of after the person passed.
Today, they are frequently passed down within a family line from member to member.
Signet ring engraving is often the wearers initials monogrammed together to provide a signet ring personalised to the owner and are often worn on the pinky finger of the non-dominant hand however, they can be worn on any finger by men and women of all ages.
