This Gold, Masonic, Order of the Eastern Star signet ring is made from 9 Carat Yellow Gold and has a reversible head. The Freemasons Order of the Eastern Star is hand enamelled one one side of the swivel head and plain 9 Carat Yellow Gold on the other. This gold masonic signet ring has a good quality head and shank of a medium weight and designed to be worn every day. This ring is perfect for a Freemason who enjoys to wear masonic jewellery.

The head is 16 mm in length and 14 mm in width and the ring is a size V. The gold signet ring weighs 10.4g in total.

The signet ring is a timeless classic piece of jewellery and has played an important part throughout history. Originating from the Latin word ‘signum’ which means ‘sign’, they were often engraved very deeply (seal engraved signet ring) with a personal family crest and used by many as a seal. This involved pressing the head of the ring which included the deep engraving into hot wax which would provide an inprint on letters or also, legal documents. Signet ring family crest seals were historically known to be the most authentic way of signing a document, (even more so than a fingerprint!) with the rings being disposed of after the person passed. Today however, signet rings with family crest are frequently passed down within a family line from member to member.
Signet rings today are often engraved on the top and often worn as a signet ring on pinky finger of the non-dominant hand however, they can be worn on any finger by men and women of all ages.
