The White Rose’s (also known as the part of the Tudor Rose) connection with York and Yorkshire has numerous stories and the actual origin in unknown, however, it is thought that it was first used by the Duke of York in the 14th Century. Later on it was then adopted by the City of York and became apparent in the famous ‘War of the Roses‘ between Yorkshire and Lancashire and is still renowned today.
